I found a new gun cleaner to test….Uniquetek Premium Firearms Cleaner.
Uniquetek Premium Firearms Cleaner is:
- Non-toxic
- Non-flammable
- No ammonia
- Safe too use indoors
- Contains no oils
- Low Volatility
- Non acidic
- Non corrosive
First, I’ll clean a metal surface with the Uniquetek Firearms Cleaner.
You can see that it removed some dirt/oil from the metal surface. The surface should be very clean now.
Here is my gun cleaner test setup: metal surface, gun cleaner and smokeless powder.
Here is a charge of about 50 grains of H4831 smokeless powder. I will ignite this charge and then add a second.
Ignition…..
Here’s the aftermath…lots of powder residue. Let’s try to clean it by applying the Uniquetek and letting it soak.
I was not able to soak the fouling because Uniquetek gun cleaner evaporates very quickly. So i just applied it to several patches and then quickly wiped the area. The carbon buildup came off but not easily. The underlying gunk/stain/goo did not come off even with more Uniquetek.
Conclusion: Uniquetek Premium Firearms Cleaner was designed for removing oil/grease and not fouling. It would be great for cleaning triggers, actions, etc. If you are interesting in getting some, here is a link…Uniquetek Premium Firearms Cleaner at Amazon.com
